Philips HPI plus
lamp is a diffuse ovoid (egg-shaped) metal halide lamp comprising a quartz arc tube which is filled with high-pressure mercury and a mixture of metal halogens. Characterized by its much better color rendering than the standard lamp SON lamp and longer life. Excellent lumen maintenance and long life guarantee optimum illumination and minimal maintenance costs. The excellent color stability ensure uniform color throughout the life thanks to the 3-tapes technology. The "Plus" lamps are also on high pressure sodium (SON) ballasts.

Application. This HPI plus is particularly used in public lighting, sports facilities and other general public places where security plays a role. The HPI lamp with E40 lamp base be used with a conventional ballast and is suitable for use in enclosed fixtures, the Protected (teflon coating) versions are allowed to be used in open luminaires.
